Bereavement Doula Postpartum Doula CLC Occupational Therapist I have been propelled into the birthing field based on my journey into motherhood, breastfeeding difficulties and recurrent losses. I am devoted to assisting women and their families with their own journeys. I graduated from Eastern Washington University in 2009 with a Masters of Occupational Therapy. Within my coursework I fell in love with pediatrics and soon found out that I couldn’t just focus on the child, instead I had to focus on the entire family. I found myself wanting my own family and became pregnant with my son, Lincoln. Our birth was remarkable due to my having a cesarean section. From then, we had difficulties with our breastfeeding relationship that was restored with hard work and dedication. I vowed that I would help as many women as I could in order to make their breastfeeding relationship as successful as possible. I soon found myself in the world of birthing and fell in love with it. I started training through Doula Trainings International to become a birth and post partum doula, which will conclude in February 2017. During my training, I had a pregnancy loss at 18 weeks. Again, I was on the fight to assist families dealing with miscarriage, fetal diagnosis, stillbirth and loss soon after birth. Through Stillbirthday I have found ways to comfort, support and assist families with various birth situations.
